We are constantly moved by the power of community, and today, we want to share a beautiful example of your generosity in action. A primary school in the Black Country recently reached out to us with a referral that truly embodies why we do what we do.
A young child had faced a difficult time and had to move schools unexpectedly due to a Child Protection Plan. Whilst the school was able to offer a fresh start, there was a small but significant barrier to the child’s feeling of belonging: the lack of a proper uniform. The family was unable to provide the specific logoed cardigans and polo t-shirts needed, which was causing the child to feel a bit different and less settled.
We know that a uniform is more than just clothing; it’s a symbol of inclusion, of being part of a team. For a child who has already been through so much, feeling a sense of belonging is crucial for their well-being and confidence.
Thanks to your incredible support, we were able to act immediately. The Goodwill Revolution pledged £51.40 to purchase the much-needed logoed cardigans and polo t-shirts for the child. This donation ensures the child can feel proud, confident, and fully integrated into their new school community from day one.
The DDSL and Family Support Worker at the primary school, based in the Dudley area, shared this powerful feedback with us:
